The West Michigan Ironmen are a professional indoor football team based in Muskegon, and representing the larger region which also includes Grand Rapids and Holland. The Ironmen play their home games at Trinity Health Arena. The team joined the American Indoor Football League in 2016. After the AIF ceased operations, the Ironmen joined the Champions Indoor Football League. The Ironmen currently play in the American Indoor Football League. The Ironmen are the second indoor football team to play in Muskegon, after the Muskegon Thunder, which played at the Arena from 2007-2009. The Ironmen have dominated the competition since returning Trinity Health Arena in 2016 – winning a league championship in 2018 and a division championship in 2019.
